KCRC Tunnel DB320 – 2003
Design and build works for two 3.6 km long rail tunnels as part of the West Rail project, a new KCR company railway line linking the north-west part of the New Territories to the urbanised area of the Kowloon peninsula. Bouygues Construction won the contract thanks to a variant for part of the excavations which proposed the use (a first in Hong Kong) of an earth pressure tunnel borer able to bore both through rock and loose earth.
